KARACHI: A review meeting was held for the necessary arran
gements for population and housing census, 2017 – chaired by the Sindh Chief Secretar
y Rizwan Memon held in Sindh Secretariat on Monday.
Divisional commissioner briefed the meeting about administrative arran
gements; appointment and selection of staff, establishmen
t of divisional districts and sub-divisional coordination committee, staff training, monitoring and supervision, complaint record mechanism, security issues, public awareness campaign and other relevant issues. The role of NADRA, was also discuss
ed in the meeting in accordance with the census policy.
The chief secretary defined th
at the 2017 census was a national task, which must be accomplished sincerely by all those involved. He maintained that all concerned departments of Sindh government and divisional and district mana
gement should play their role with complete devotion, to ensure the timely completion of this task, with full dedication.
