SC set to announce verdict in Imran, Tareen disqualification case

LAHORE: The Supreme Court (SC) will announce its verdict on the petitions filed by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Hanif Abbasi against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Cheif Imran Khan and Secretary General Jehangir Khan Tareen on Friday.
“The decision will be announced at 2:00 pm tomorrow,” said the apex court’s registrar office on Thursday.
The three-member bench of the apex court, headed by Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar, reserved its judgment after hearing the case on November 14.
The petitions were seeking disqualification of Imran Khan and Jehangir Tareen over non-disclosure of the assets.
Akram Sheikh and Azid Nafees were among the counsels of the petitioner, whereas Naeem Bukhari argued for Imran. Sikandar Bashir Mohmand advocated for Tareen.
The bench finally came to the conclusion after conducting over 50 hearings.
